Hello and happy Friday everyone. If you’re like me, you may struggle to complete certain tasks that you know “need” to get done but often don’t because they require a lot of effort. This post, in fact, is an item I’ve written on my “To Do” list for today. I’m writing it while avoiding a much more involved task!
While we will always have some tasks that we find difficult or unpleasant, there are some steps we can take to help us get through them a little bit better. Gretchen Rubin shares 7 tips to help us in the article Putting Off Some Horrible Task? Try These 7 Tips. This article share some really practical ideas on habits that you can work to develop around this that you may find quite helpful.
I want to encourage you to not be afraid of scary or challenging tasks. One of my biggest tips and one that I practice is focusing on how good I’ll feel once it’s done. When I think about the dark cloud that hangs over me when I procrastinate vs the lightness I feel when I don’t, it makes the choice a little bit more clear.
