Overcoming Perfectionism Paralysis

Hello and happy Friday everyone.

Today I want to share a great article I found that I think gives a somewhat humorous but realistic account of how perfectionism and procrastination can work together and lead to paralysis.  Victoria Maxwell writes about the Vicious Triangle of Perfectionism, Anxiety, & Depression and provides some tips on how to break this cycle.  For those of you who may have experienced this I think you may find the information quite helpful.  Maxwell talks about the elements of perfectionism as well as ways to combat them.  Please read the start of the article below:

“It’s official. I have a healthy…err…unhealthy dose of perfectionistic procrastination paralysis. Well that’s my term for it. The inability to start a task or the consistent delay of starting said task because of the need for the outcome of that task to be perfect. (Don’t ask me how long it took me to write that. I am still panicking because I know it could be better.) Current situation: fear of publishing an imperfect blog post.”

If you have found other ways to break through a “perfectionism procrastination paralysis,” I’d like to hear about it in the comments below.
