The Business of Practice blog series is where is where I share thoughts, ideas, and resources about the business of private practice. Thank you for stopping by and I look forward to helping you turn your practice development dreams in to small business reality.
A couple of weeks ago, I had the pleasure of hosting a Q & A call and answering some questions about starting private practice. The participants asked some really wonderful questions. Over the next few posts, I’ll answering some of those questions here, to support you in your respective practice building journeys.
One of the questions I was asked was the following: “What was one thing I wished I knew/did before I started my practice?”
The main thing I wish was that I had a clearer vision for my practice. While I was working off of a general plan, I wish I had spent more time really mapping out and clarifying the vision of my practice. What I’ve found over the years of running my business is that the vision is the foundation and heart of my practice. Knowing and being clear about my values and overall vision is the starting place for every other decision I make about the business.
